International Book Day is celebrated worldwide on April 23rd. Its purpose is to promote reading to all people. Since 1988 it has been a celebration promoted by UNESCO.

The day is not selected at random, April 23 is a symbolic day for literature, since great writers such as Shakespeare and Inca Garcilaso de la Vega passed away that day. And the great Cervantes died on April 22, but was buried on April 23.
