Our programs encourage children to explore, ask questions and take an active role in learning — building curiosity, creativity and confidence along the way.

How kids learn

To us, how kids learn is as important as what they learn.

For 30 years, Nutty Scientists has been making science fun, engaging and memorable by turning learning into an active experience. Children don’t just watch or listen — they experiment, participate, ask questions and discover for themselves.

The Nutty Scientists methodology

Learning by doing — The Nutty way

Our methodology combines proven educational approaches with our own unique way of bringing science to life.

Children don’t simply sit and listen. They move, experiment, observe, answer questions, laugh and take an active part in the experience. This helps make scientific concepts easier to understand, remember and enjoy.

Some of the key elements of our methodology include:

  • TPR© — Learning Through Movement:
Total Physical Response (TPR) uses movement and active participation to help children understand and remember scientific concepts.
  • SDAIE© — Making Science Easier to Understand:
SDAIE uses demonstrations, visual cues and hands-on materials to make scientific concepts easier to understand.
  • PQS® — Questions That Get Kids Thinking:
Our own PQS Questioning System uses questions, humor and interaction to encourage participation, critical thinking and curiosity.

Hands-on learning matters more than ever

In an increasingly digital world, children need real opportunities to experiment, move, create and interact.

Our hands-on approach gives them a break from passive screen time and the opportunity to experience science for themselves — together, in the real world.
