The Oscars are this week so we want to share some of our favourite kids movies about science and technology, including the 2020 animated film Over the Moon which is nominated for best picture this year. We also love some movie classics like The Never-Ending Story or E.T. These are movies that you can enjoy with the whole family while your kids can learn from them in a fun way.

  1. Over the Moon (2020)

Over the Moon is the story of little Fei Fei who makes a rocket to travel to the moon so that she can prove the Legend of the Moon goddess Chang’e. Throughout the story she discovers unexpected adventures and discovers a world of fantastic creatures. It’s a trip to believe in again.

  1. Wall-E (2008)

Wall-E takes place on a post-apocalyptic Earth where a singular robot Wall-E lives alone collecting trash among the abandoned buildings and polluted cities. This movie addresses many topics including healthy diets and exercise, taking care of the environment, and the relationship between humans and technology.

  1. Jurassic Park (1993)

In Jurassic Park, a multi-millionaire with the help of scientists creates a theme park with live dinosaurs. Before they open the theme park to the public they invite well-known scientists to visit first, but things don’t go as expected!

The Never-Ending Story is about a boy Bastian, who escapes from the real world and bullying at school by reading and enjoying story books. But this time, the book he chooses isn’t the same. This time, his words are magical and he becomes part of the story.

E.T is the story of a friendship between an alien and a young boy called Elliott. E.T. arrives with his family on a spacecraft, but he escapes to explore Earth. When he meets Elliott they form an unforgettable friendship.
