If we go back to Ancient Egypt, we can understand why many objects were found in the tombs of the pharaohs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The ancient Egyptians believed in life after death <\/strong>and were buried with their belongings and with things they might need in the afterlife.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Here\u2019s some interesting fact about King Tut.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>He was <strong>the most famous pharaoh of Ancient Egypt.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>He was <strong>known as the \u201cChild Pharaoh\u201d<\/strong> because of his early ascension to the throne at 12 years old, and then his untimely death at age 20.<\/li>\n<li><strong>His Tomb<\/strong> <strong>is a spectacular pyramid.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>His grave was very small<\/strong>. It took 3,245 years to find.<\/li>\n<li><strong>His tomb was discovered in Luxor <\/strong>in 1922 by the archaeologist and Egyptologist Howard Carter.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Although credit for the discovery went to Carter, it was really Hussein, a 10-year-old boy<\/strong> who brought water to the workers at the excavation site in the Valley of the Kings, who ran into a step in the sand, thus discovering the tomb.<\/li>\n<li><strong>His tomb was considered one of the few that had remained practically intact<\/strong> before the activity of grave robbers.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>What exactly do archaeologists do?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ol>\n<li><strong>They are professionals of anthropology.<\/strong> Specialising in the history of the human being as known through remains, such as bones, tissues, ceramics, etc.<\/li>\n<li><strong>They can specialise in a geographical area<\/strong>, a historical period or an object.<\/li>\n<li>Their most important <strong>functions are the excavation<\/strong>, <strong>identification<\/strong>, r<strong>egistration and historical conservation<\/strong> of remains.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Another part of their work involves laboratory analysis<\/strong> such as research and heritage management.<\/li>\n<li><strong>They work hand in hand with surveyors<\/strong> and excavation specialists.<\/li>\n<li><strong>They use geophysical techniques<\/strong> or aerial photographs in order to identify archaeological sites.<\/li>\n<li><strong>They advise governments<\/strong> on archaeological site conservation issues.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>At\u00a0Nutty Scientists, we believe that knowing about the past allows us to understand the present and improve the future.
