They are at the base of the greatest technological advances and the International Year aims to highlight their crucial role for sustainable development and emphasize their contributions to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>According to the UN, the basic sciences provide the essential means to face crucial challenges such as:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Universal access to food.<\/li>\n<li>Energy, health coverage and communication technologies.<\/li>\n<li>Understand the impact of the planet\u2019s nearly 8 billion inhabitants.<\/li>\n<li>Limit or reduce the impact of living beings on the planet to solve problems such as the reduction of the ozone layer, climate change, depletion of natural resources and the extinction of living species.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In\u00a0Nutty Scientists\u00a0we promote the love of basic sciences in children and we hope that this year will be a boost for the sustainable development goals and the 2030 Agenda.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"International Year of Basic Sciences for Sustainable Development.
