• Half-day STEM Camp # 5
    December 16, 2023
    9:00 am - 12:00 pm
We're sorry, but all tickets sales have ended because the event is expired.

About the Camp: This camp has been created to emphasize that there are a lot of “scientists” in different professions/careers around us. Children will step into the shoes of these professions/careers, like Astronauts, Engineers, Doctors, and Physicists to find and understand how much science is involved and the importance of it in each profession/career.

Who We Are: NUTTY SCIENTISTS is the European leader in fun educational activities for children from 4 to 16 years old, with more than 135 offices in the world. Every year more than 5 million children participate in our programs.

How We Work: Nutty Scientists proposes interactive performances in a workshop or show format, during which the children have their own experiences, led by The Nutty Professor and his assistants. The shows are always entertaining, educational, and participatory, which allows children to learn while having fun. As Confucius said: “I was told and I forgot, I saw and I understood, I did and I learned.” these workshops stimulate children’s imagination and arouse curiosity, the necessary elements for becoming a scientist in any field.

The Program Objective: The Nutty Scientists Program aims the following objectives:

  • Boosting interest in Science, environment, nutrition, astronomy, and health prevention
  • Strengthening the knowledge of students about the environment around them.
  • Showing them how learning can be useful and fun.
  • Increasing participation, communication, and integration within the classroom.
  • To improve the academic performance of the participating students.

Age and grade level:  The Program is divided into cycles of activity by levels so that at each level of education has a working curriculum appropriate to the age.

Meet Your Intructor: Khan, or Mr. K, is a doctoral researcher at the University of Massachusetts; he has a master’s in education in advanced teaching. Before starting Nutty Scientists, he was a math teacher in Normandy School District. He had a long and fulfilling career in software technology with tech and finance giants, including Computer Science Corporation, Allstate Insurance, and Citibank.
Khan lives at Lake St. Louis with his wife Razia, currently working at Mastercard. His elder son Hammad is a computer scientist at Cisco in the Bay area, and the younger son, Z, is doing his undergrad in pre-med at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Khan is passionate about helping kids learn science concepts through demonstration and hands-on activities. He gets a great sense of achievement from helping and observing students develop and grow as individuals.
