Join us for 6 weeks of exciting lessons about the animals of The Creature Conservancy!

The Creature Conservancy is a nonprofit business in Ann Arbor, Michigan that is home to many native and exotic animal rescues and provides valuable conservation efforts through education in the area.

The 6 week program will offer weekly informational videos about the animals of The Creature Conservancy, at-home away from the screen science projects, and a short weekly zoom meeting to ask questions and share projects and experiments!

This year has been a strange one for everyone. At Nutty Scientists, we have been finding ways to give students science education with the same level of hands-on excitement, while the Creature Conservancy has been innovative in offering conservation education while keeping a socially safe environment. Normally, in-person camps and classes play a huge role in both of our education plans, but this year we have still been able to find a way to offer some super fun classes while staying safe AND minimizing all of that screen time! In addition to getting all of the educational benefits of this class, part of the profits from these classes go towards caring for all the amazing creatures we will be learning about.

So what exactly does this class have to offer?!

  • Education on the animals and an introduction to learning about zoology
  • Hands-on, exciting, science experiments with the materials provided
  • Emailed lesson plans with zoological themes
  • Videos of new animals each week and lessons about characteristics
  • An optional weekly zoom meeting each week to discuss successes and challenges from that week’s project and ask specific questions about the animals
  • Free admission to a day of open hours at The Creature Conservancy (reservations required)
  • With your class, vote on a name for an unnamed critter!

The weekly zoom meeting will act as a sort of scientific review of projects and offer the opportunity and ask specific questions about the animals.
