INTRODUCTION TO SCIENCE HOLIDAY WORKSHOP, SYNDAL SOUTH PRIMARY SCHOOL

Date: 12 April, 2022 

Time: Workshops only – 9:30 am – 2:30 pm | Full day – 9:00 am – 4:30 pm

Location: Montgomery Ave, Mount Waverley VIC 3149

Children will explore the basics of Chemistry, Physics and Biology, and how all sciences are interconnected in their nature.

• In Chemistry, students will learn about the process of Chromatography, and we will have interactive experiments using colours
• In Biology, students, using diagrams, will explore and learn about the importance of the 2 hemispheres and 4 lobes that make up a human brain, and how they all work together
• In Physics, students will build  a Catapult to learn how force affects the motion of a projectile, whilst aiming for accuracy, precision and angle – which form the basics of physics

Cost

• $70 for Workshops only, 9:30 am to 2:30 pm. Kids will get to participate in workshops 1, 2 and 3.
• $90 for a full day, 9:00 am to 4:30 pm. Kids will get to participate in workshop 1, 2 and 3. In addition, we will have board games, science toys and gadgets, and art activities before and after the workshops.

Combining fun with learning, Nutty Scientists’ Camps are an innovative form of “edutainment” (education + entertainment). Each workshop contains an educational theme that keeps children engaged all day, every day.

All workshops will run in compliance with the Covid19 guidelines set and recommended by VicHealth and DHHS, at the time of the event.

Please pack a nut-free lunch, morning tea, afternoon tea, hat, sunscreen and bottle of water. There will be supervised outside play during breaks. If your child has any allergies, please let us know in advance.

These workshops are recommended for children aged between 5 to 12 years old. The workshops are run/managed by 2-3 professors to ensure each child receives the attention they need.  

*** Please note that in the event of another Melbourne-wide lockdown, if we are not able to proceed with the planned workshops, any tickets purchased will be credited fully to roll over at the next School Holidays Science Workshop. If refund is requested, management will retain a 2% fee, to cover transaction fees charged by third party. ***
