Combining fun with learning, Nutty Scientists’ Camps are an innovative form of “edutainment” (entertainment + education). Each workshop contains an educational theme that keeps children engaged all day, every day.

January 13 – Forensic Science workshop

Be a professional forensic scientist for a day and get hands-on at the crime scene

• Look for clues and evidence and learn observing like a Forensic Scientist
• Make your own fingerprint and and how each one is unique and can be used as an accurate identifier
• Isolate and take home DNA and analyse DNA strands
• Detect chemicals using Food chemistry

January 14 –  Blast Off to Space workshop

Children will go on a journey of knowledge taking them from Earth, sun, moon to various planets of the Solar system

• Explain rockets and objects in flight using laws of motion and Bernoulli’s principle
• Understand gravity and how sun, earth and moon move in relation to each other
• Take a trip to various planets to understand natural phenomenon occurring on their surface

Nutty Scientists is a COVIDsafe business and our workshops will run in compliance with the Covid19 guidelines set and recommended by VicHealth and DHHS, at the time of the event.

Cost

• $120 for Workshops only for two days, 9:30 am to 2:30 pm each day. Kids will get to participate in workshop 1, 2 and 3.
• $160 for two full days, 9  am to 5 pm each day. Kids will get to participate in workshop 1, 2 and 3. In addition, we will have board games, science toys and gadgets, and art activities before and after the workshops.

Please pack a nut-free lunch, morning tea, afternoon tea, hat, sunscreen and bottle of water. There will be supervised outside play during breaks. If your child has any allergies, please let us know in advance.

These workshops are recommended for children aged between 5 to 12 years old. The workshops are run/managed by 2-3 professors to ensure each child receives the attention they need.
