MARINE POLLUTION HOLIDAY WORKSHOP, SYNDAL SOUTH PRIMARY SCHOOL

Time: Workshops only – 9:30 am – 2:30 pm | Full day – 9:00 am – 4:00 pm

Location: Montgomery Ave, Mount Waverley VIC 3149

Children will explore the effects of pollutants in our oceans, specifically focusing on marine biology.

• Students will identify pollutants such as recyclable materials, plastic and organic wastes
• We will discuss the effects of pollutants for marine life, interactively
• Students will get to  experiment with “oil spills” in our oceans and learn how they affect marine biology

Cost

• $70 for Workshops only, 9:30 am to 2:30 pm. Kids will get to participate in workshop 1, 2 and 3.
• $85 for a full day, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Kids will get to participate in workshop 1, 2 and 3. In addition, we will have board games, science toys and gadgets, and art activities before and after the workshops.

Combining fun with learning, Nutty Scientists’ Camps are an innovative form of “edutainment” (education + entertainment). Each workshop contains an educational theme that keeps children engaged all day, every day.

All workshops will run in compliance with the Covid19 guidelines set and recommended by VicHealth and DHHS, at the time of the event.

Please pack a nut-free lunch, morning tea, afternoon tea, hat, sunscreen and bottle of water. There will be supervised outside play during breaks. If your child has any allergies, please let us know in advance.

These workshops are recommended for children aged between 5 to 12 years old. The workshops are run/managed by 2-3 professors to ensure each child receives the attention they need.  

*** Please note that in the event of another Melbourne-wide lockdown, if we are not able to proceed with the planned workshops, any tickets purchased will be credited fully to roll over at the next School Holidays Science Workshop. If refund is requested, management will retain a 2% fee, to cover transaction fees charged by third party. ***
