Wednesday, 2 October 2019 – Kellyville

Workshop 1 (9:30 am – 10:30 am) — The wonderful world of worms

Learn about the wonderful world of worms, the role they play in the environment, their bodies and the food they like to eat. How do worms help crops and improve fertility? Make observations of plants and animals to compare the diversity of life in different habitats. Take home your worm friends.

Workshop 2 (11:30 am – 12:30 pm) — Trip to the Planets of Solar System

Is human life possible on other planets?  to different planets in our solar system. Students will learn about different plants and be able to deduce that in order for certain organisms to survive, there needs to be a very specific climate and atmosphere. See examples of how events like a volcanic activity can change the landscape of a planet. 

Workshop 3 (1:30 pm – 2:30 pm) — Magnetic force

What are magnets made of? Understand the special force that pushes and pulls. Learn some fascinating facts about magnets, magnetism, levitation and its application in high speed trains. Make and take home magnetic putty.

COST

• $25 for 1 workshop,
• $45 for 2 workshops, 9:30 am to 12:30 pm or 11:30 am to 2:30 pm
• $65 for 3 workshops, 9:30 am to 2:30 pm
• $85 for a full day, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. Kids will get to participate in workshop 1, 2 and 3. In addition, we will have board games, science toys and gadgets, and art activities before and after the workshops.

Please bring morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea,water bottle and a hat. There will be supervised play during breaks. If your child has any allergies, please let us know in advance.

For workshops only, please arrive 15 minutes before the start time.
