Combining fun with learning, Nutty Scientists’ Camps are an innovative form of “edutainment” (entertainment + education). Each workshop contains an educational theme that keeps children engaged all day, every day.

In this holiday workshops, kids will discover how chemicals can be combined to create amazing reactions. Children will explore the building blocks of matter and atoms, by creating their own molecules. They also will learn to distinguish between a physical and chemical change of matter. They will also learn to identify those substances that are acidic and those that are basic based on a mysterious ingredient.

  • Observe how heat energy transfers to different objects through conductivity. Explain the building blocks of matter, atoms, and molecules. Distinguish between a physical and chemical change of matter. Make your own flubber and take it home.
  • Use different tools to solve the same problem and compare and contrast the efficiency of each tool. Identify those substances that are acidic and those that are basic. Learn about indicators that can distinguish acids and bases based on colour change.
  • Understand the different states of matter: solid, liquid, and gas.  Demonstrate the effect soap has on dirt. Learn how to make soap out of glycerin.

Nutty Scientists is a COVIDsafe business and our workshops will run in compliance with the NSW Health COVID19 guidelines at the time of the event.
